What this calculator answers
Split an each way stake into equal win and place parts, then calculate the two returns using the win price and reduced place odds.
Formula and worked example
Formula: Place decimal odds = 1 + (win decimal odds minus 1) multiplied by place fraction. Total return is the relevant win and place returns.
At 5.00, a one fifth place fraction makes place odds 1.80. A 10.00 each way stake is 10.00 on win and 10.00 on place; a win returns 68.00 in total.
Checks before using the result
- Entering the total stake when the field asks for stake per part.
- Using the place fraction as a percentage without converting it.
- Counting the win portion as settled when the selection only places.
When the calculation does not apply
It applies only where a market has stated each way terms. Place counts, dead heats and deductions can alter settlement.
Keep the number in context
A calculator shows the arithmetic. It doesn't tell you whether the price fits your read of the outcome or your budget. Decide the stake before you enter it. Check the market rules. Keep essential money out of it entirely.

Reading a rounded result
Money is rounded to two decimals here. A real settlement applies its own rounding sequence, which can differ. Keep the original inputs written down if you're going to check the number later.
Unclear about an input? Find the stated market term. Don't guess. A quick sanity check: change one input by a small amount and see whether the result moves the way you expect.
That doesn't validate the market. It can flag a reversed sign, a mis-entered price format or a duplicated stake. Use the number to understand the arithmetic. It's not a reason to ignore a limit you set in advance.
